Creating Better Relationships
May 14, 2008
The most important achievements you can ever have in this life is your own happiness.
And the majority of all the happiness you will ever have, will come from your personal relationships. Your interactions and the time you spend with the people you care about will be the major source of the pleasure, enjoyment, and satisfaction you have on a daily basis.
The key to a happy family life is communication and the amount of time you spend with the people you love. It is not the quality of time, but the quantity of time that counts. The expression "quality time" is used by people to justify and excuse the fact that their lives are so disorganized that they do not spend much time with their spouse or their children. The fact is, that quality time is a function of quantity. Quality moments are those little moments that are precious, unexpected, and important. They arise during the process of spending a large quantity of uninterrupted time with another person. You can’t dictate these moments in advance and you can’t decide to have quality time. You don’t go to it. It comes to you.
MacDonalidisation: Braverman, Taylor & Mayo
May 14, 2008
Background: George Ritzer defined McDonaldization as “…the process by which the principles of the fast-food restaurants are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as the rest of the world.”
For our purposes, MacDonaldisation is a process of rationalisation that results in an efficient, logical sequence of methods that can be used to complete a given task in a controlled way.
Frederick Winslow Taylor: Approach to organisational efficiency "scientific management". He developed a theory of organisation which altered the personalised autocracy of work under which human beings were treated like machines and assumes the specialization of work, and:
Protestant work ethic, that assumes people will work hard and behave rationally to maximize their own income
Workers would neutrally tend to work no harder then necessary given the chance to do so, and believed in control of those tendency through management. The method system was concerned with control; but was too rational ie there was no place in it for workers as human beings
Taylor was driven by the promise of direct financial benefit resulting from there studies of social science and research.
The Freemasonic Order of the Golden Centurion
May 13, 2008
I think most people who will read this will not accept what I am saying here without doing a lot of checking into the facts.
‘I tried sending through an attachment from a fellow researcher who is working on the Kaballah as derivative from Qaballa which is an ancient Verbal Tradition such as kept by the Bairds or bards and the Bardic Tradition for over 25,000 years. He finds my history is supportive and I see his sets of codes in English and other things of great value. The particular piece is 19 pages on just the letter ‘E’ without getting too verbose or using illustrations, which he has lots of. The Gematria is not a specialty of mine although I am pretty good at pre-history languages and not bad at Green Languages and alchemical allegories in the Jung from Silberer subset derived from alchemy or Hermetics. That has usages in psychotherapy and mind control which they call Neuro Psycho Linguistics and other words and systems they often do not understand; it once was called Dream Analysis but they have gone far along the path of programming the mind. Kind of funny how psychiatrists say they do not believe in a soul and yet they use these archetypes from our collective soul.
Divine Power/Jesus is over Everything
May 12, 2008
Divine power is so great, Paul an apostle of Christ Jesus says in 2Corinthians 10:3, For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. Now in many chapters of the Bible it says that Jesus is over everything, in Psalm 24:1 says, The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the sea and established it upon the waters.
The Sterling Silver Story
May 11, 2008
Silver is the most common of the Precious Metals. It’s working qualities are very similar to gold. Pure silver, which is seldom used for jewelry because it is too soft. Silver weighs about half as much as gold and has greater flexibility. Though silver is not as malleable as gold it can achieve a more brilliant polish. In fact, silver shines above all other metals in this respect.
Silver has been used for many centuries, going back to ancient times, but because it tarnishes and decomposes; it has not survived as well as gold. Periodically, however, silver enjoys great popularity as it does currently.
As far as the price goes, silver generally lags behind gold by about four or five times. The price of silver jewelry follows the price of gold jewelry, however, so as gold rises, silver inevitably does too.
The words silver or sterling silver describe a product that contains 92.5% silver. Silver products sometimes may be marked 925, which means that 925 parts per thousand are pure silver. Some jewelry may be described as silver plate: a layer of silver is bonded to a base metal. The mark coin silver is used for compounds that contain 90% silver.
Finding Your Life Purpose
May 10, 2008
You have a purpose in life. You have a unique gift or special talent. By using this to gift to benefit others you raise your spirit to it’s highest. This is the ultimate? the dream of all dreams and the point where you can all live a life with abundant happiness.
The question is how?
This article will set you on that path and tell you what to do next.
Forget how much money you have. Forget how big your home is or how big you’d like it to be. Forget where you want to go on holiday. Forget your religious background and forget your education. I say this because focus on these things can stop you from seeing who you really are and therefore stop you from doing what you want to do in life.
The reasons why you’ve forgotten who you are and what you want to do are that they have been extracted from you or squashed by following beliefs and values of those around you. You’ve been stopped from exploring you.
Josephs Life?a Series of Coincidences
May 9, 2008
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is the story of Joseph. If you read and really understand this story, you will see that nothing is coincidental and that all things work according to God’s plan. It might not be according to YOUR plan, but it all works out for the best.
Just check out the story of Joseph.
Joseph had a bunch of brothers. I think it was about 12 of them mugs altogether. But Joseph’s father loved him the best. The reason he loved him more is because Joseph’s father had a bunch of baby Momma’s and he loved Joseph’s mother more than the other momma’s and therefore was the proudest of Joseph.
The other brothers didn’t like Joseph because of their father’s blatant favoritism. (Side note: you should never treat any of your children better than the others. If you don’t believe me, check out this story for proof.)
Tsunami Aftermath
May 9, 2008
On December 26, 2004 a massive tsunami swept through Thailand killing thousands of people, and changing the lives of thousands more. Although the Tsunami happened months ago, we are still feeling the affects of it today.
The massive destruction that occurred because of the tsunami has a huge impact today. Thousands of villagers in Thailand who live on a very low income to begin with lost all they had in the tsunami, as the water took it away or destroyed it altogether. These are villagers who are having an incredibly hard time now trying to scrape by and replace what it is the tsunami took from them.
Agriculturally Thailand was hit very bad with the tsunami as well. Where water was reported to have traveled 7-8 miles inland farms are suffering loss of crops and livestock, as the salt that remains on their fields isn’t producing the crops that are needed to support themselves and their families.
Because of the change in the environment around Thailand, rivers are emptying more quickly into the ocean, which is going to become a problem for farmers as far as irrigating their fields, and providing water for their livestock to drink.
How Good Are You?
May 8, 2008
The demands of being a good person can sometimes mean sacrificing your own happiness.
You may have been raised to be a good boy or girl; encouraged to be a good worker, to be a good parent; to be a good friend; to be a good citizen? And I’m not saying that this is wrong; what questioning the effects of this on our individual happiness and the impact on our country.
Are we becoming happier more fulfilled people by being "good" or are we just a group of people heading nowhere but where we’re told?
If we continue to be good workers, will this ever allow us to achieve our full potential as human beings? If we continue to be good-parents, protecting our children when it is safe to empower them, will they grow to be all they can be? If we continued to be good friends, by sheltering our companions from the truth, will they ever get the information that is vital to their well-being? And if we continue to be good citizens who go along with what were told and are happy to leave the issues in the hands of the ‘higher’ authorities will we ever live alongside one another, full of love and accepting of our differences?
Become Enlightened
May 7, 2008
The other day I had a meeting on the web with a few friends. We are planning our class reunion and since no two people were ever available at the same time, we decided to set up a CHAT group and meet over the web.
It was a lot of fun and exciting. This got me curious about CHAT rooms so I later signed into a Christian chat room to see what the hoopla was all about regarding these chat rooms. Although I have been on the web for almost ten years, I’ve never ventured into a chat room. Need less to say, there weren’t very much Christianity going on in that chat room.
One person, with a rather strange handle, which I cannot remember right now, questioned whether or not there actually was a God. He stated that with so much evil going on in the world, it led him to question God’s existence.
Later, after signing off, I thought about what "strange handle" said about the evil in the world. Of course, God has nothing to do with the evil but it got me to thinking about all of the people who are so “Unenlightened”.
